Wet Felting:

Create Your Own Canvas and Art Piece

Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 6PM

Discover the creative possibilities of wet felting as you transform soft wool fibers into a beautiful piece of fiber art.

In this workshop, you’ll begin by creating your own felt “canvas” from raw wool using traditional wet felting techniques. Once your foundation is complete, you’ll layer colorful wool fibers to design and create a unique felted scene. Most participants choose to follow along with one of several inspirational designs provided in class, such as landscapes, flowers, trees, and other nature-inspired artwork. You’re also welcome to bring your own inspiration. This can be a favorite photo, an image saved on your phone, or printed reference.

As you build your artwork, you’ll learn how color, texture, and fiber placement work together to create depth, interest, and visual impact. No two pieces are ever alike, making this a wonderful opportunity to explore your creativity while learning the art of wet felting.

Your finished artwork will be approximately 10″ x 12″ and can be framed and displayed at home or incorporated into future fiber projects.

At the end of class, we’ll briefly discuss how needle felting can be used at home to add additional detail and dimension to finished felted artwork.

This part of the class is a demonstration and discussion only; the project itself is completed using wet felting techniques.

No prior felting experience is necessary.
